LiftMaster LA500 Error Codes 93, 94 and 99

LiftMaster diagnostic codes must be matched to the exact gate operator and control-board generation. On applicable LA500 control platforms, codes 93 and 94 identify RPM or stall reversals, while code 99 is listed as normal operation.

Code 93: Operator 1 RPM or stall reversal

Code 93 points to Operator 1. The controller commanded movement but detected a stall, unexpected loss of RPM feedback or resistance sufficient to reverse travel.

Code 94: Operator 2 RPM or stall reversal

Code 94 points to Operator 2 on a dual-gate system. Compare the second leaf with Operator 1 and record the direction and travel point where the fault occurs.

Likely areas to inspect

• An obstruction, sagging gate, hinge resistance or incorrect actuator geometry.
• An actuator that is not properly engaged or is being overloaded.
• Damaged, loose or intermittent actuator cable wiring.
• An RPM or position-feedback problem inside the actuator or controller path.
• Limits or learned travel that do not match the actual mechanical movement.

Code 99: normal operation

On applicable LA500 diagnostic tables, code 99 means normal operation and does not identify a fault. If the gate is still malfunctioning, review the diagnostic history and current inputs rather than assuming code 99 explains the symptom.

Safety: Do not raise force settings to overcome a mechanical problem. Repeatedly cycling a stalled actuator can damage the operator and create unsafe movement.
